Creeping bentgrass has long, fine stolons which produce roots
at every node, thus developing a dense sod.
Sunny areas with soils having high fertility, low acidity (pH5,6-7,0), good drainage and high water holding capacity are the best. Its feeding and moisture requirements are high. Tolerates low temperatures but discolours early in the fall and greens up late in spring. It should be mown very frequently and very short.
It easily builds up a thatch layer and is rather susceptible to diseases. Rich watering, fertilizing and fungicide treatments are needed to ensure good quality. Temperate single turf species.
Notes: Very suitable species for green turfs. Requires few mowings. To avoid felting it should be cut very low and frequently aerated. Dose of use 30 kg / ha.
